On Saturday July 25th Knockmealdown Active will be organising a walk along a portion of St. Declan’s Way (the entirety of which runs from Ardmore, Co. Waterford to Cashel, Co. Tipperary over the Knockmealdown Mountains).
This 20km walk will take a scenic route from Cashel to Cahir. We will gather in Cahir at 9am in the morning in Cahir Day Care centre car park (this is located between Cahir Credit Union and Cahir Catholic Church on the Ardfinnan road out of Cahir). Registration is in the Cahir Day Care centre.
At 10 am we will get buses to Cashel
At 11 am we will then begin our walk from Cashel back to Cahir on mainly scenic back roads. Estimated walk tim ei s 4 to 5 hours depending on fitness levels and weather conditions.
The walk will complete at Morrissey’s Bar (across from Cahir Castle) where there will be refreshments available.
Note:
We recommend trekking boots or sturdy runners for this walk. Remember, a good deal of it will be on tarmac roads.
Bring appropriate wet gear, this is summer in Ireland, there is always a chance of rain.
Bring a Fully Charged Mobile Phone – this is very important.
Bring any snacks or lunch you will need along the way, there are no shops on the route.
________
Cost for the event is €20 which includes buses, walk leaders, first aid & refreshments at walk end. Booking early online will earn you a €5 reduction so if you book now online it will cost just €15 – don’t delay, this is a limited time offer.
