Turas Cholm Cille – Pilgrim Paths Day Event – April 4th 2015
Genuinely unsanatised pilgrimage marked by pagan standing stones that were later Christianised and then adroitly knotted together to form the Stations of the Cross. Pilgrimage is traditionally conducted barefoot but this is not required for Pilgrim Paths Day.
Suitability: Walking boots are essential as the terrain is rough underfoot in places and the route crosses a marshland.
Departure: 10am. Distance: 9km. Duration: 3.5 hours.
Assemble: Oideas Gael Centre.
Getting there. From Donegal town follow the N56 to Killybegs and the R263 to Glencolumbkille.
